Sarah Bender

Sarah Bender was a lifelong resident of Scioto County, Ohio, before attending Ohio University where she graduated Magna Cum Lade with her BA in Political Science: Pre-Law and her BS in Psychology. She is continuing her education with Ohio University, working towards her MA in Law, Justice, and Culture.Before working with Sunday Creek Horizons Sarah has worked for the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office as a Student Intern where she assisted in county court proceedings alongside prosecutors. This work inspired her passion for policy-based and advocacy work focused in the region.In her time with Sunday Creek Horizons, Sarah has specialized in a broad variety of work and policy with the company. She currently manages clients such as the Coalition of Rural and Appalachian Schools (CORAS) and the Appalachian Children Coalition, focused on education and child mental health and well-being policy. Additionally, Sarah assists with various projects focused on community development, federal energy policy, grant management and economic development.
